The Gift of a Broken Heart and Contrite Spirit
we should remember the gifts our Heavenly Father gives us. He gave us His Son. Jesus Christ laid down his life and paid the price to overcome sin and death. Through the Atonement and by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the gospel, we may all receive the gift of Eternal Life.
The blessings God gives us are innumerable.
The gifts we can give God include giving Him our broken hearts and contrite spirits. We can give him a desire to be better and a willingness to try. We can love others as God loves them.
How God Talks To Us
The thoughts I share with you today come from Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles’ General Conference talk from last October. He spoke of the “Exceeding Great and Precious Promises” our Heavenly Father seeks to give us as his children (October 2017 GC – Bednar). My hope today is to convey a portion of Elder Bednar’s message that invites the Spirit and will encourage us to be better.
